16th C. German Clothing

Description

A set of clothing based on (early) 16th century German fashions. I was unsure as to if this should go in costumes or clothing, but I decided on clothing becuase it was designed to be fully functional clothing (costumes are often unlined and have a lot of things left out that make them only really functional for stage or short term wear). I use this clothing for reenactment (events, and 16th century hunting and camping). This took quite a lot of work and research - looking at woodcuts and paintings from the period, designing/drafting all my own patterns, etc... It's really a continueous project with things I add or change as I figure out what works well, what could work better, and how details shown in artwork may represent something other than what I originaly interpreted. This photo was taken by my girlfriend, Eliana, while on a summer camping trip in the Maine woods.
